Poorly secured loads still cause road safety problems and unnecessary costs on a daily basis. TRTA focused on this issue at the beginning of the millennium.
In order to improve overall road safety as well as create a safer work environment for a driver or shipper, TRTA's professional experts provided training on securing loads. Issues that were dealt with included: How do you figure out how loads should be secured? What is the function of an XL trailer?
In addition, TRTA was involved in the EU work group on this issue, with a TRTA envoy as a member of this work group. In this work group, the revised EN12195-1 standard was developed, which was published in 2010.
