It was noted that trailer manufacturers generally applied very poor warranty conditions, often made up of a hotchpotch of subconditions from the suppliers of equipment components.
Subsequently, in 2001, TRTA, also on behalf of AFTO, drew up a set of minimum warranty conditions that could be stipulated by its members when new equipment was purchased.
The intention behind this was to professionalise the suppliers' warranty policy and to lessen the number of these types of discussions between suppliers and TRTA members. The conditions were made available in 4 languages.
