A very common problem that still occurs is when a truck and trailer have the same user but not the same owner: a fine intended for the driver, that is registered on the trailer's licence plate.
TRTA has made every effort to try to resolve this (administrative) problem. At the time, several TRTA members lodged objections with the Dutch Ministry of Justice. These never reached the appeal stage, as it became clear that we would not be able to win the case.
Therefore, we were only able to advise our members to make sure that their administration was in good order, so that the fine would be passed on to the transgressor in the respective cases. This is still a matter that TRTA would very much like to see changed!
